High adventure climbing Kilimanjaro -
and a taste of real Africa
Mount Meru – Kilimanjaro’s ‘little sister’
Mount Meru is a stunning volcano and, at 4,565 metres (14,977 feet), it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania after its nearby ‘big sister’, Kilimanjaro.
Unlike Kilimanjaro, there is an abundance of wildlife, such as leopards. When we take you to the top we have to be accompanied by an armed National Park ranger.
The ascent is quite steep. The route passes through the same climate zones found on Kilimanjaro The summit is reached via a narrow, barren ridge that affords stunning views of the Ash Cone, several thousand feet below in the crater.
